Northbound Lanes Of I-495 Closed In Fairfax County (Developing)

The afternoon commute got off to a rough start for some in Virginia when I-495 was temporarily shut down in Fairfax County.

Delays of more than two miles were reported at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, when a crash shut down the northbound lanes of the interstate near VA-123 (exit 47B).

No details about the crash have been released.

According to officials, at approximately 4:30 p.m., traffic had reopened, though vehicles were getting by slowly and there was still residual delays.
